Estimating Costs for a Massachusetts Bankruptcy
The cost of
bankruptcy is related to the complexity of each case.
Attorney Grew makes every attempt to provide every client
with a clear understanding concerning the cost of their
bankruptcy case. Below are the basic costs associated with
different bankruptcy cases.
All our bankruptcy services are flat fee. The price we
quote each client is most they will have to pay to complete
their bankruptcy. The following information is for
advertizing purposes only and does not constitute a contract
for services.
Basic Chapter 7 Cases ...............starting at $995.00*
Basic Chapter 13 Cases ...........starting at $1,995.00**
* The above fee includes the following: interviewing the
client, gathering
petition information, completing the petition, filing the
petition, initial
correspondence with creditors, correspondence to the
Trustee, preparation
and attendance for / at the 341 meeting.
** The above fee includes includes the following:
interviewing the client,
gathering petition information, completing the petition,
filing the petition,
initial correspondence with creditors, correspondence to the
Trustee,
preparation and attendance for / at the 341 meeting, one
modification of the
plan following the 341 meeting. The above prices do not
include the Bankruptcy Court's filing fee. The
current filing fee for a Chapter 7 case is $299.00 & a
Chapter 13 case filing
fee is $274.00. Clients are required to pay for any
additional court required fees for
amending schedules, refilling the client's petition and any
other
miscellaneous fees.
Services not included in the above listed fees include
representation in
adversary actions, filing of motions, Trustee audits,
depositions, responding
to objections, completing incomplete paperwork submitted by
client
additionally scheduled or continued 341 meetings, additional
contact with
creditors, services related to a foreclosure, reaffirmation
agreements,
redemption, amending the petition to add creditors ($200.00
per creditor),
disputes over values, short-filings, emergency filings
($500.00), request for
attorney fees, post confirmation work and budget reviews are
contracted by
agreement on a case by case basic.
